Today was an activity filled day from start to
the end!
We stepped into Bak Pka
Primary School for first time. As compared to Chuop Primary School yesterday,
it seemed so much sparser. Even so, the children and Principal were very happy
to see us and welcomed us warmly.

After receiving our instructions from our guide, Mr Khorn, we began our work enthusiastically.
The students carried out work such as nailing
together wooden window frames and using chungkul and spades to shovel soil onto
baskets to level out the ground. The students did a really good job carrying
out their work under the hot sun.

Next on the itinerary was a visit Angkor Pottery Center where the students were given an opportunity to create their own pottery piece from the scratch! This homemade craft was something precious they could bring home as a souvenir of their trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Lastly, to end off the
day, we went to watch the Beatocello Concert at the Jayavarman VII hospital. It
is a cello performance by the director of the hospital, Dr Beat Richner. Dr
Richner explained the current situation of children’s health in Cambodia and
treated his audience with beautiful pieces of classical music.
The concert brought an end
to our eventful day. We are looking forward to see what tomorrow brings!
